How does RAIM work?

A

RAIM is a fault detection software. With information from 6 satellites can eliminate the data from any faulty satellite. This will leave 5 Satellites and still RAIM capability

What happens if RAIM removes 2 Satellites worth of data?

A

Then the GPS position of the aircraft is being calculated using 4 satellites and RAIM cannot be assured
