A combined (colocated) VOR and TACAN
What is inertial navigation?
Internal guidance only from gyroscopes
What is a marker beacon?
Radio set up to limit signal to passing overhead and use to mark distance from an airport on an approach
What is an ILS?
Instrument Landing System. Landing aid with a horizontal (localizer) & vertical (glideslope) guidance components.
What categories of ILS are there?
I, II, IIIa, IIIb, IIIc. Accuracy increases as listed.
What is GPS
Global Positioning System. Navigation by satellite signal. Extremely accurate.
What is a GLS?
GPS landing system, similar to ILS Category I.
