When using sharp objects, you should NOT:

- You will be using scissors, knives, razor blades, and other tools that have sharp edges. Follow these procedures exactly.
- Use X-acto knives or snap-off disposable craft knives rather than razor blades. If you must use a razor blade, use only a single-edged blade with a shield.
- Dispose of blades properly by wrapping them and taping the wrap shut. If a safety container is provided for sharp objects, always dispose of blades in this container.
- Always cut away from you or toward the side. Never cut a material with the motion toward yourself or another student. Never point sharp objects toward yourself or other students.
- Tell your teacher immediately if you or a student is cut.
Know where the first aid kit is and how to use it.
