the negative affects of Shi Huangdi’s rule
his harsh ruling. He was overly excessive with his taxes and government. He followed legalism, which explained a lot of the displeasure from his subjects. He also had people working on the Great Wall for a very long time
What I said for the question “conquered or unified”
I believe that The Quin unified China because even though they had a ruler who was very harsh, they did many things to strengthen and unify China. The taking over and controlling of many lands, isn’t really a unification, but it is the process that needs to be executed in order to get this unification. To unify is to bring together and make these people blend. He did just that. Shi Huangdi took over them and standardized writing, measurement, currency, and the length of chariot axles. All of which is necessary to unify a place. Writing helps with communication, and measurement and currency need to be agreed on for people to interact with each other and function in a unified empire.
