Q

Do you have an elevator?

A

Yes. It’s located on the ground floor level past the below deck bar on the right hand side. The elevators have a three person (or two people and a stroller) capacity. Managers should be called to provide elevator assistance. However, all employees should learn how to operate the elevator in the event that a manager is not available. Note that our elevator can only transport guests between the ground floor level and the patio level of Brooklyn Crab. If elderly or handicapped customers do not wish to dine on the patio, we can lower our main bar tables to accommodate them.

A

Across from the main bar underneath the little roof.

21
Q

Can we order drinks on the patio or roof deck and not order any food?

A

Guests who are just drinking may enjoy their beverages at one of our bars. If however, the restaurant is not busy, guests may be permitted to drink at one of our dining tables. Guests should understand that if the table is needed for traditional dining, they will be asked to relocate to one of our other dining areas.

22
Q

I’m sitting on the patio but it looks like it’s about to rain. Can I move to a table inside?

A

If the weather is precarious and the restaurant is busy, host must inform guests that we may not be able to move them once
seated! However, if we can honor the request to move them, or if it begins to rain, ask the guest to wait patiently. Then follow this protocol:
1. Check for table availability with host and manager. 2. Print Check. Hand check to receiving server.
3. Make sure manager knows to tell kitchen.
Communicate. Work together.

23
Q

Our friends are already here. Can we join them?

A

At Brooklyn Crab we do not seat incomplete parties in any event! Hosts are responsible for communicating this policy. If guests,
by whichever means, manage to join or request to sit at pre-sat table, it should be brought to a manager’s attention.

24
Q

Is the roof deck enclosed?

Our roof deck is open air when the weather is nice.

A

When it’s rainy or cold, the garage doors slide all the way down for dining comfort.

25
Q

Do you have business cards?

A

Yes. Hosts will insure that business cards are available on every level of Brooklyn Crab. Business cards are also stored behind all bars.

26
Q

Do you sell gift certificates? T- shirts? Sweatshirts?

A

Yes. Inquire with managers.

27
Q

Do you take reservations?

During the summer season we do not take reservations for parties smaller than 12.

A

For all reservations of parties 12 and
larger, guests should contact Renee at events@brooklyncrab.com. Present guests who inquire about reservations with a business card.

28
Q

Weareapartyof15. Weareallherebutwedonothavea reservation. Can you seat us?

A

If you are able, and the kitchen and servers are not under duress, seat the party. Inform a floor manager immediately that you have seated a 12 top. If there is a wait, assess wait times on both the patio and roof deck. Let guests know that during our peak season it may take longer to accommodate larger parties. Parties of 12 or larger are provided with the option of splitting up into smaller groups for prompter service. If parties of 12 or more choose to sit together, regardless of wait time, they need to know their server may stagger the parties food and drink orders. This means that groups of guests in the party may receive food and drinks a few minutes apart. If a party of 12 or more does not approve, let them know they are more than welcome to make reservation via our website on future visits for prix fixe dining.
