Pyridium
A
- topical analgesic or local anisthetic effect on the mucosa of the urinary tract
- used for UT irritation such as burning on urination and urinary frequency
- only indicated for short term use (need to find the underlying frequency)

Acyclovir
A
- selectively taken up by herpes simplex virus
- used in prophylaxis and treatment of genital herpes; also used to treat varicella (chicken pox) in children
- poorly absorbed but absorbed enough for therapeutic levels

Acyclovir side effects
A
nausea, vomiting, HA, diarrhea, dizziness, phlebitis at injection site, acute renal failure with rapid injection

Rifampin
A
- used to treat TB
- side effects include hepatitis, GI problems, CNS problems, Myelosuppression
