-spine of scap= upper lobe above spine
-below spine of scap= lower lobes
-T7 @ FRC= diaphragm
angle of scap approx T7
-T10 after deep breath= diaphragm
what is a normal RR
10-20
what is cheyne-strokes
crescendo-decrescendo pattern in depth of respirations with periods of apnea
HF, TBI, brain tumor
RR and TV will accelerate and then decelerate and then not breathe at all
RR decreases
HR increase with rising CO2 levels
what is pectus excavatum
funnel chest
-concavity
what is pectus carinatum
pigeon chest
chest bows outward
what are you looking for in sputum?
- amount
- thickness
- color

what are abnormal breathing sounds
