What is the AIP?
The Aeronautical Information Publication.
It is issued by or with the authority of the state and contains aeronautical information of lasting character essential to air navigation.
What is a NOTAM?
Notice to Airmen.
Distributed by telecommunication, details information concerning the establishment, condition or change in any aeronautical facility, service, procedure, or hazard, the timely knowledge of which is essential to personnel concerned with flight operations.
What is the AIC?
Aeuronatucal information circular.
Notice containing information that doesn’t qualify for the AIP or a NOTAM but which relates to flight safety, air navigation, technical, administrative or legislative matters.
What are the AIC colour codes?
White - Admin Yellow - Operational/ATS Green - Maps and Charts Pink - Safety Mauve - Airspace regulation
What is AIRAC?
Aeuronatucal Information Regulation and Control
The system by which updates in regulation are introduced.
Must be published at least 42/56 days before date of effect, and received by all parties at least 28 days ahead of time.
What is AIS?
Aeronautical Information Service
A service established within the defined area of coverage, responsible for the provision of aeronautical information/data necessary for the safety, regularity and efficiency of air navigation.
