What is the definition of psychosocial?
it is the interrelation of social factors with individual thought and behavior

What are some of the reasons for assessing self-concept?
identifies strengths and weakness in order to help the nurse to set goals and develop a treatment plan
What are roles?
sets of expected behaviors for certain social positions
What are relationships?
who a person feels close to or connected with
Describe what is assessed in roles and relationships.
ROLES: who they are in family, community, education, employment
expectations of themselves/others and are they satisfied with their ability.
RELATIONSHIPS: most significant relationship, patterns of communication, conflict, demands, supports, and satisfaction in their relationships

goal is to determine the extent that there cognition has been affected by illness and establish a baseline.

because it is essential to determine the sources of stress and methods of coping as stress will play a huge role in one’s ability to recover, maintain wellness, and prevent future health concerns..

eating patterns
activity/rest patterns
substance use
habits/daily activities
