A

Yes, for one or more of these reasons;
1. Overridding factors (e.g. accident, pollution)

Desrcibe an initial inspection?

A

Basic inspection for SR and LR vesssels (HR always have an expanded insepction). This inspection includes;
- Certs and docs
- Overall condition and hygiene of vessel
- If previous deficiencies have been rectified in the alloted time frame

Descrcibe a more detailed inspection?

A
  • If clear grounds are found during an intial inspection. PSCO will conduct a more detailed inspection of that area
  • PSCO could also conduct more detailed inspections of other areas if they deem necessary

Clear grounds is defiend as any deficiencies found in the initial inspection which require furrther investigation (e.g. invalid certifcate, prnciple equipment not operational)

  • For HR vessels mainly but others vessels too if PSCO deems necessary (e.g. out of turn insepction)
  • Detailed expanded search into different areas of the vessel
