National smile month

A

runs mid May to mid June each year. People can engage in the campaign in variety of ways + by accessing (or making their own) resources.
the ‘smiley’ has been adopted + embraced by the nation. The OH promotion team engages in local events, social media + distributes info to maximise on the national smile month

Mouth cancer action month

A

runs for the whole month of November. the campaign raises awareness of the disease, the importance of checking our own mouth regularly + of going to the dentist. the oral health promotion team promotes these messages

Stoptober

A

headed by Public Health England which encourages people across the country to stop smoking together on 1st October for 28 days + beyond. Evidence shows that if a smoker can quit for 28 days they are five times more likely to stay smoke free. Motivation + support are provided before, during + for a period of time after the campaign month
