What are bone spurs?
osteophytes, body grows projections on bones, typically on the anterior calcaneous
What is plantar fasciitis?
causes heel pain, inflammation, weight bearing=burning
What is osteoporosis?
osteoclasts break down bone, bones are fragile, spongy bone becomes porous
What is a hip fracture?
femoral neck fracture, can be due to osteoporosis
What is rheumatoid arthritis?
autoimmune disease, joint stiffness, bone deformity
What is rickets?
deficiency of vitamin D, weak, brittle bones
What is nursemaid’s elbow?
annular ligament slides between the humerus and radius
What is a shoulder dislocation?
humerus pops out of socket
What is FOP?
soft tissue regrows as bone
What is osteosarcoma?
bone cancer, knee/hips/shoulders, affects teens & young adults
What is kyphosis?
hunchback curve
What is lordosis?
swayback lower region
What is ankylosis?
severe arthritis in the spine, vertebre fuse
