Presentation of Quantitative Data Flashcards
1
Q
what are the ways to represent data?
A
- tables
- bar charts
- histograms
- scattergrams
2
Q
what are the two types of distribution?
A
- normal distribution
- skewed distribution
3
Q
what is a normal distribution?
A
- bell-shaped curve is symmetrical
4
Q
what is skewed distribution?
A
- distributions which lead to one side or the other
5
Q
what is a positive skew?
A
- most of the distribution is concentrated towards the left of the graph (e.g. low scores on a test)
6
Q
what is a negative skew?
A
- most of the distribution is concentrated on the right (e.e an easy test and everyone does good)
