Presentation and Display of Quantitative Data + Distribution Flashcards
Bar Charts show
data in the form of categories to be compared
Histograms
are used to display continuous data
Frequency polygon - line graph
also used to display continuous data but instead take the midpoint of each histogram bar and connect to form a line.
Pie Charts
show the frequency of categories as percentages
Tables
summaries’ the main findings of the data
scatter diagrams
used to depict the result of correlational analysis
what is normal distribution?
that nice n curve ( n for normal)
more scores around the mean and less scores on the top and lower end
skewed distribution
more scores at either the top or lower end of the data. and the majority of scores are not near the mean
positively skewed data
contains more low than high scores
negatively skewed data
contains more high than low scores
