3
Q

eval median

A

S: not affected by extreme scores or anomalies
can be used in ordianl data unlike mean
W: not as sensitive as the mean as not all data is taken into account
can be unrepresentative in a small set of data

4
Q

eval mean

A

S; most accureate measure of central tendency
uses all data in calculations
W: less useful if some scores are skewed/ anomalies
mean score might not be part of the data

Q

eval mode

A

S: less prone to distortion by extreme scores
W; can be more than one mode in a set of data
doesn’t use all the scores

8
Q

eval standard deviation

A

S: is a more sensitive dispersion measure than range bc all scores are used
W: allows for the interpretation of individual scores

sidenote- the larger the spreader of scores teh greater the standard deviation.
