Category A

Category B1
- Medicines have been taken by a limited number of hapu wahine without increase frequency of malformation.
- Animals have not shown evidence of increased occurrence of damage to pepi
Category B2
Medicines have been taken by a limited number of hapu wahine. Does not have an increase risk of malformation or any direct or indirect harmful effect on the pepi.
- Animal studies are in adequate or maybe lacking data of increase occurrence of damage to pepi.
Category B3
- Limited number of hapu mama without increase chance of malformation or other indirect and direct harmfulness to pepi have not been observed.
- Animal studies have shown an increase occurrence of foetal damage . significance of which is considered uncertain in humans
Category C
- Risk based on the mechanism of action of the medicine.
- Has caused or ay be harmful effects the pepi or neonate with out causing malformations
- Effects maybe reversible

- Have caused or are suspected to have caused increase of malformation or irreversible damage

- High risk of causing permanent damage to pepi
