pregnancy screening for down syndrome

A

combined test: 11-14 weeks gestation, involves results from USS and blood tests
- nuchal thickness > 6mm
- b-hCG (increase), PAPPA (lower)

triple test: 14 and 20 weeks
- bHCG (higher), AFP (lower), serum oestriol (lower)
offered amniocentesis or chroionic villus sampling of NIPT
