management to reduce the risk of hypertensive disorders in pregnancy
aspirin 75-150mg from 12 weeks till birth
management of pre-eclampsia
arrange emergency secondary care assessment of any woman that pre-eclampsia is suspected
oral labetalol (nifedipine if asthmatic)
deliver baby
what is eclampsia
development of seizures in association with pre-eclampsia
management of eclampsia
magnesium sulphate
- IV bolus of 4g over 5-10 minutes then infusion 1g/hour k
urine output, reflexes, resp rate and oxygen sats monitored
calcium gluconate given if resp depression occurs
