offering Mass for the dead is more beneficial and comforting than any other thing.
it shows that even though the dead are o longer here on Earth, they still belong in the christian community. Part of the communion of saints.

• they do not believe in God so praying is just for an individual and has no effect in God as God doesn’t exist.
• since there is no afterlife, the deceased person will not be able to receive or benefit from any prayers.
• there are better ways to remember and celebrate the dead.

1. Say the Lord’s prayer to follow the teachings of Jesus as it is seen the best way to pray in a humble way.
2. pray for deceased as a sign of love and respect and as a way to keep their memory alive.
3. Catholics will pray to continue to build and strengthen their relationship with God and to thank God for all the wonderful things they have been blessed with in their lives.
4. They will attend memorial masses for their loves ones who have died where they will continue to offer prayers for their souls in the hope that they are in peace with God.
