Where the sacrament of the eucharist is celebrated. THe alter shows the belief that Jesus died on the cross for human sin and to give people salvation. This is remembered through the sharing of the bread and wine which reperesent the body and blood of Jesus in his crucifixion.

what are some outside features of the church
churches are usually build in the shape of a cross showing the importance of the dead of JEsus for human sin and bring salvation through the cruiciform.
Some churches are now circular with the altar in the middle - this signfies the oness of the worshippers and they are all sharing in the sacrificial sacrament of the Eucharist at the altar. it can also represent the eternity of God.
Churches usually afec east which where the sun rises showing that God is the light of the world in the face of sin.
How can this change catholics life
Catholics will try visit church and be reminded of the sacrifice of JEsus on the cross for theri sins. They will pray t God during MAss, thanking God for sending his Son so they can have a chance of salvation.
