Praxis
Universally known movements used in testing praxis
brushing teeth
combing hair
shaving
standing up
walking
Pt has intact sensation, normal muscle strength, and coordination but cannot do the action upon command
Apraxia
Differentiate Apraxia and Comprehension
Apraxia: Pt understands you but has impaired BA6 and is unable to do command d/t having loss of past experiences
Comprehension: Pt has the ability to follow commands since they have intact BA6 (memory/past experiences)
Pt has a problem c movement
Anosognosia
Pt cannot perform skill upon command, but later they can do it
Ideomotor Apraxia
Pt is able to actively move, but delayed d/t impaired (but not totally destroyed BA6)
Ideomotor Apraxia
With or without command, the pt cannot do the action
Ideational Apraxia
Pt cannot actively move d/t a completely destroyed BA6
