-Roles and status of society were relatively fixed
What was modern society?
-Social life becomes based on rationality than traditions and teachings of religions
-As a result of this is that social life is less predictable and increased uncertainty and more rapid change introduced
What was post modern society?
Decline in rationality
-More individual choice/identity is less fixed
-Identity construction and identity fluid
-even more uncertainty and change typical of modern era
