A
- Process in the 18th and 19th century when Britain moved from being a predominantly agricultural to one that was dominated by manufacturing.

A
- Majority of the population (LC) lived in rural areas and worked on the land.
- The upper classes were the wealthy land owners who held political power.
- A feudal system was evident as the classes were split into two- upper and lower.

- The working class had little free time and their lives were harsh.
- But they had a strong sense of community that would be lost with the onset of industrialisation.
