A
Neck, shoulder, hip - stiffness + pain
Sudden onset

A
Decreased range of motion in shoulders, neck and hips
Muscle tenderness

A
CRP
ESR

How is the diagnosis made?
A
Typical history and exam with raised inflammatory markers

How is PMR managed?
A
Oral prednisolone (15mg)

What advice should be given to patients being managed for PMR?
A
Rapid improvement expected
Long term treatment
Steroids slowly stepped down
Steroid side effects
