Shorter. Anterior to descending aorta. Branches within the lung

Longer. Anterior to tracheal bifuracation. Posterior to ascending aorta, SVC. Branches outside the lung.

They have Oxygenated blood.

Drain into the left atrium.

Variable number leaving the lung due to genetics.

Describe a Pulmonary Embolism.

A

Veins do not have muscle to pump blood. Depends on contracting muscle. Blood pools around valves. Clots form. Clot breaks and lodges in the lung. Highly fatal. Serious for non-mobile patients.

A

Sympathetic nervous system. originates in the cervical and thoracic areas. Dilates bronchioles and vessels of the bronchial tree and heart.
