Q

What are leaves made of? (3 points)

A

1) mesophyll tissue – where most of the photosynthesis occurs
2) xylem and phloem – transport water, mineral ions and sucrose around the plant
3) epidermal tissue – covers the plant

Q

How does photosynthesis produce glucose?

A

Sunlights goes onto the leaf, providing energy, then photosynthesis occurs in chloroplasts (by chlorophyll), water reaches the cells in the xylem, and CO2 diffuses into the leaf.
