Q

What are the stages of mitosis? (5 points)

A

1) DNA is spread out in long strings
2) the DNA is copied and form X-shaped chromosomes, with each arm an exact duplicate of the other
3) the chromosomes line up at the centre of the cell and cell fibres pull them apart, and the two arms go to opposite ends of the cell
4) membranes form around the each of the sets of chromosomes, becoming the nuclei of the new cells
5) then the cytoplasm divides
