Pityriasis Rosea is likely an ide reaction to a viral infection, often described as “a flu of the skin.”
What are the early signs of Pityriasis Rosea?
Sometimes begins with a flu-like prodromal episode.
The first skin symptom is usually a large “herald patch” or “mother patch” on the trunk or arms.
Describe the progression of Pityriasis Rosea lesions.
After the herald patch, smaller oval lesions appear on the trunk and upper arms.
These lesions scale at their borders.

Lesions typically align with the skin lines, forming a “Christmas tree pattern” on the back.

No causal treatment is available. The disease is self-limiting
