. He was able to double Britains trade profits from a deficit of £2.5million to a surplus of £2million.

How were Pitts trade policies not successful?
. There was a lot of opposition to Pitt trying to implement the idea of free trade and because of this many free trade deals with other countries could not be made e.g. A free trade deal with Ireland in 1785 had to be dropped because of opposition.
