A

. The changing of the Navigation Acts enabled British colonies to trade with other countries instead of just Britain.
. Trade with newly independent countries in South America e.g. Brazil was encouraged and traders were now given the freedom to trade with these countries without penalties and tariffs.
. The Reciprocity of Duties Act allowed the creation of free trade treaties between countries ( 15 treaties signed by 1829 ).

State a financial policy introduced

A

. Frederick Robinson ( chancellor of the exchequer ) lowered many taxes and set aside more money for a new sinking fund.
. Taxes such as the window tax was halved and duties on many foreign goods were reduced.
. The Bank act of 1826 reformed the banking system to decrease the number of bank notes and increase 5e size of banks. This reform increased confidence in the banking system.

. The death penalty was removed for a variety of crimes e.g. Impersonating a Chelsea pensioner.
. A series of laws between 1826 and 1828 ensured that judges were now paid salaries instead of fees.
. The prison system was reformed via the Goals Act of 1823 - led to some improvements in medical care and education of prisoners.

. Trade duties and tariffs had been reduced but they still remained
. The Corn laws even though introduced in 1815 still remained
. Widespread corruption and benefit to the landed interest still remained in the courts and law and elections
. The creation of the MET could be considered not liberal due to the infringement that the force could have on personal rights.

State some work policies introduced

A

. The Combination Laws were repealed by radical MP Joseph Hue, who was not a member of the government, as a result the government cannot take credit for the repeal of the Combination Laws.
. However the Combinations of Workmen Act of 1825 made Unions liberal but limited the way they could operate.
