A

. Peel was prioritising industry, trade and commerce and not agriculture.
. Peel not supporting agriculture turned much of the landed interest away from him and they shifted their support to those who cared about agriculture e.g. Disraeli.

. Peels may oath grant was seen as a betrayal of the Church of England and prodastants in favour of Catholics.
. Most Tory MPs were against this as the were ultra Torys and Prodestants.
