A year
What is a ‘Microcycle’?
Training program that lasts a week long
How long is a ‘Mesocycle’?
A mesocycle is a training program that lasts any time between 2 weeks and 2 months, usually 6 weeks
What are the three phases in training?
Preparation(Micro), Competition(Macro), Transition(Miso)
What happens in the Miso training phase?
Physiological Rest, Biological Regeneration
Maintaining general level of fitness
Low intensity aerobic fitness work
Can be sport specific work
What happens in the Micro training phase?
Preparation phase
Attaining previous physical fitness state
Specific and general preparation
Harder intensity physical fitness work
What happens in the Macro training phase?
(Competition phase)
Competing in events and competition
Precompetitive phase, competition phase
Maintaining level of fitness but decreased work on fitness
