What is The Hangar designed for?
- Provides and environmentally protected area to perform maintenance on aircraft
- Stores the aircraft away from the weatherdecks

Carrier Aircraft

- Strike Fighter Squadron
- 2 Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadrons or a Helicopter antisub warfare squadron

235 ft wide 85 ft deep
What is a type 2 Hangar designed for?
For US Marine Corps Aviation
What type of aircraft was a type 2 Hangar configured for?
- CH-53 Helicopters
- V-22 Ospreys
- C-130 Hercules
What are the dimensions of a type 2 Hangar?
325 ft wide x 119 ft deep
What is a type 3 maintenance hangar designed for?
Land based Patrol/ Large Transport aircraft

165ft wide x 165ft deep

Painted red fire lane adjacent to bulkhead that divides the hangar from the maintenance workcenters

They are mounted on the bulkhead above the deck

Applies external electrical power to the aircraft
