Hazardous Material/Hazardous Waste (HAZMAT/HAZWASTE)
What is the definition of HAZMAT?
Any material that because of its quantity, concentration, or physical or chemical characteristics, may pose a substantial hazard to human health or the environment when released/spilled
What is the definition of HAZWASTE?
Once materials have been used, the discarded material liquid, solid, or gas that meets the definition of HAZMAT
When should HAZMAT stowage locations be inspected?
Weekly and Quarterly
What should the inspection consist of?
Tightness of enclosure, corrosion, leakage, improper or inadequate labeling, and shelf-life
What does MSDS stand for?
Material Safety Data Sheet
What is an MSDS?
Technical bulletins containing information about material, such as composition, chemical and physical characteristics, health and safety hazards, and precautions for safe handling and use
What is the acronym for types of HAZMAT?

What is an AUL?
Current inventory of HAZMAT, chemical substances, or components known/suspected to contain HAZMAT used for acquisition and use

- How to read/interpret hazard warning labels

Containerize them in approved containers for proper shore disposal
