Increase peristaltic activitiy through intestinal distension & H2O retention- softer stools

OTC laxatives for constipation, bowel prep

Nonabsorbable salts which hold water in intestine via osmosis increases peristaltic activity

Hypermagnesemia in renal failure, diarrhea, abd pain, safe for long term use.
Enema- Sodium phosphate- MOA
Saline which increases bowel distention increaseing parestalsis
