Side effect of prolonged naficillin or pcn
Marked neutropenia
Medications that inhibit hepatic clearance of meds (including beta blocker, antidepressants, steroids, warfarin, and metronidazole)
Erythromycin, ciprofloxacin, cimetidine, omeprazole
Causes these meds levels to increase
Medications that are enzymatic inducers (increasing clearance and requiring higher dosages)
Rifampin, phenobarbital, carbamazepine, phenytoin
What medication is associated with Post transplant lymphoproliferative disease
Associated with tacrolimus
Stress dose drug of choice
Hydrocortisone
10mg/m2
Also has mineralocorticoid effect
Beta blocker size effects
Slows heart rate Lowers BP Hypoglycemia Could cause tachypnea Could cause seizures and delirium
Serum sickness like reaction symptoms
Arthralgia
lymphadenopathy
urticaria rash
+/- fever
How does ibuprofen work?
Inhibits prostaglandins:

Risk factors of acquired hearing loss
NICU>5 days ECMO Aminoglycosides or loop diuretics Mechanical ventilation Hyperbili requiring exchanges transfusion
antidote to benzo
Flumazenil
Reverses opioids
Nalaxone
Mild sedation
Respond to commands, no change in vitals
Moderate sedation
Responds to commands but potential for airway compromise
Deep sedation
Depressed consciousness, likely will not respond to commands, requires assistance with airways
Anesthesia
Loss of consciousness, inability to protect airway, often with CV depression
