Define performance management
Is the process used to evaluate and improve individual and business performance. Individual objectives should be aligned with business objectives so pursuit for individual goals help meet business objectives.
Define Management By Objectives (MBO)
Is a program where the manager and the employee collaboratively set clear objectives. Set for the employee but align with the business objectives.
What is an advantage of MBO
-Both manager and employee are aware of the objectives.
Define performance appraisal
Is a process that evaluates how well an employee has performed their job, provides feedback and helps develop new objectives.
Define self evaluation
When an employee self-assess both their performance compared to their predetermined objectives and their contribution to the team.
Develops strengths and weaknesses and drives them to achieve targets.
Define employee observation
Is where management evaluates an employees performance by watching them in the workplace. Should be done in stage= more informed view.
