floor is necrotic fibropurulent debris, base of inflamed granulation tissue, deepest layer is fibrotic scar tissue
complications of a peptic ulcer?
perforation, penetration, haemomrrhage, stenosis, intractable pain
Rome II criteria for dyspepsia
♣ Epigastric pain or burning
♣ Post-prandial fullness
♣ Early-satiety
treatment of ulcer?
in absence of red flags, check h pylori, eradicate if needed. In absence of h pylori –> acid inhibition
what is the quickest way to test for presence of h pylori?
