What is the function of serratus anterior?
It protracted the scapula, holding it against the thoracic wall and it also rotates the scapula.
What are the two attachments of serratus anterior?
It attaches to the medial border of the anterior scapula and also to the external surfaces of the lateral portion of ribs 1-8.
Where is pectoralis minor in relation to pectoralis major?
Posterior
Where does pectoralis minor attach?
It attaches to the anterior surface of ribs 3-5 and it also attaches to the coracoid process.
What nerve innervated pectoralis minor?
Medial pectoral nerve
What is the innervation of pectoralis major?
Lateral and medial pectoral nerves
Name the two heads of pectoralis major and their attachments.
Clavicular: medial half of clavicle
Sternocostal: sternum and superior 6 intercostal cartilages.
Both attach to lateral lip of intertrabecular sulcus.
What is the function of pectoralis major?
Adduction and medial rotation of the arm.
What is the innervation of serratus anterior?
Long thoracic nerve
