State the 8 types of injections that can be administered
- Subcutaneous
- Intradermal
- Intranasal
- Intravenous
- Intramuscular
- Intraperitoneal
- Intrapleural
- Intraosseous
What is an Intraperitoneal injection?
Injection into the abdominal cavity
What is an Intrapleural injection?
Injection into the thoracic cavity
What is the difference between a Subcutaneous injection + Intradermal injection?
Subcutaneous injections are administered in the fat layer, underneath the skin.
+
Intradermal injections are delivered into the dermis, or the skin layer underneath the epidermis (which is the upper skin layer).
Intradermal = Intradermis = within the dermis
