What are pathogens?
Agents that cause disease
They can be cellular or non-cellular
What are prions?
A type of protein that can trigger normal proteins in the brain to fold abnormally
What are viruses?
an infectious agent that can only replicate within a host organism
What are bacteria?
Bacteria are small single-celled organisms that lack a nuclear membrane, and are metabolically active and divide by binary fission
What is fungi?
eukaryotic organisms that include microorganisms such as yeasts, molds and mushrooms
What are protozoa?
Microscopic unicellular eukaryotes that have a relatively complex internal structure and carry out metabolic activities
What are parasites?
Organisms that depend on a host to survive and spread
