Signs
Obstructive jaundice Ascites PHTN Hepato / Spleno-megaly Palpable gallbladder Abdo mass Supraclavicular Lymphadenopathy
Subcutaneous fat nodules
- due to met fat necrosis
Thrombophlebitis Migrans
- episodic vessel inflammation due to recurrent blood clots
If there is suspicion of PC what imaging should be done
USS
CT
EUS
If jaundice and mass is found what should be done
ERCP and stent
If mass without jaundice is found what is done
EUS and percutaneous needle biopsy
Investigations for if carcinoma found
CT scan or EUS to determine if operable or not
Laparoscopy or laparotomy
Operation if possible
Pancreatoduodenectomy (Whipple’s)
Palliation for jaundice
Stent Cholechoduodenostomy (connection between CBD and duodenum)
Pain control
Opiates
Coeliac plexus block
Radiotherapy
