what is radiotherapy?
A
shooting gamma rays directly at tumours

A
ingest a radioactive isotope and it would clog at the blockage and give a high radioactive reading

Why are beta and gamma emitters used?
A
They can penetrate the body to be detected outside the body

How do you test if the thyroid glands are working properly?
A
use iodine-123 as it is easily absorbed by the glands and if it isn’t absorbed, you know they’re not working

A
To ensure it is clean enough for use and no microorganisms live on it.
