• Internal pane:
  Move people out of carriage and lock it out of use.
  Report to maintenance and record in vehicle repair book.
• External pane:
  Move people away from the affected window.
  Report to maintenance and record in vehicle repair book

Train can proceed at 100mph

Question 2

Protocol for defective air suspension?

Answer 2

• Report to driver, maintenance and record in vehicle repair book
• Move passengers out of affected unit
• if there are no passengers in affected unit train continue at Line speed
• If passengers cannot be moved out of affected carriage, driver can level the suspension and the train can continue up to 45mph

Question 3

What do we do if lights won’t work in the Saloon?

Answer 3

• In one carriage:
  Move passengers and lock out of use
• In all carriages:
  Patrol the train using TOC lite, emergency light sticks etc

Train can continue during the day as long as there is no long tunnels on the route

Question 4

What do we do if the PA system is defective?

Answer 4

• Report to maintenance and record in vehicle repair book
• Move passengers out of affected carriage if possible, if not patrol the train making face to face announcements

What do we do if there is a defective Hustle alarm? (door chimes)

Answer 5

• Report to maintenance and report in the vehicle repair book
• Make announcements on the train and platform before closing the doors
