What classifies as a broken window and how are they managed?

A

A score or a crack 8cm or more in length

  • Internal pane:
    Move people out of carriage and lock it out of use.
    Report to maintenance and record in vehicle repair book.
  • External pane:
    Move people away from the affected window.
    Report to maintenance and record in vehicle repair book

Train can proceed at 100mph

Protocol for defective air suspension?

A
  • Report to driver, maintenance and record in vehicle repair book
  • Move passengers out of affected unit
  • if there are no passengers in affected unit train continue at Line speed
  • If passengers cannot be moved out of affected carriage, driver can level the suspension and the train can continue up to 45mph

What do we do if lights won’t work in the Saloon?

A
  • In one carriage:
    Move passengers and lock out of use
  • In all carriages:
    Patrol the train using TOC lite, emergency light sticks etc

Train can continue during the day as long as there is no long tunnels on the route

A
