What is the EBS and what does it do?
A
- Emergency Brake Switch
- When activated it allows the brakes to be released even when break safety loop is interrupted
- Brakes will only be controlled by the driver; no other systems will work

A
- Reach clear understanding with the driver on how you will stop train in an emergency
- Inform customers to contact train staff in an emergency
- Stay in saloon and stay visible

Protocol if EBS activated on Multi-Unit Train?
A
- Reach clear understanding with the driver on how you will stop a train in an emergency
- Move all passengers to the forward unit and advise they can contact the driver in an emergency
- Sit in the forward Cab of the rear unit ready to press GSMR Red Button and apply Emergency brake & parking brake if train uncouples
-DCM would be contacted if the train uncouples

What’s does TIS mean and what does it do?
A
- Traction Interlock Switch
- When activated the driver can take power and accelerate the train even if the doors are presenting as open

Protocol when TIS (Traction Interlock Switch) is activated?
A
- Close all doors and physically check all doors on both sides from inside the train
- At all station stops, physically check all doors that have been released are now closed
- Reach a clear understanding with the driver on how ready to start signal will be made as bell buzzer will not work when TIS is activated
