• Trappings/injuries caused by malfunctioning door
• Malfunctioning doors (opening/closing when not supposed to)
• Passenger controls malfunctioning (lit/unlit when not supposed to be)
• Slam door handles not returning to horizontal and/or stiff in frame

• Try it 3 times
• Lock and label
• Report it to maintenance
• Record in Vehicle Repair Book

For a vehicle (carriage) to be locked out of use, which doors must be locked out of use?

• Extreme end door(s)
• if multiple doors on the same side of the vehicle are locked

What do we do if we encounter a fault on the train?

Answer 4

• Report it to the driver
• Report it to the DCM if safety related, Maintenance control if not
• Record in Vehicle Repair Book
• Follow any instructions from control

What is the EBS and what does it do?

• Emergency Brake Switch
• When activated it allows the brakes to be released even when the brake safety loop is interrupted
• Brakes will only be controlled by the driver, no other system will work
