What is Mens Rea?
A
It is the intent of the offender. It refers to the persons guilty knowledge or what was in their mind when when they did the Actus Reus.

What is Actus Reus?
A
It is the physical act or effort required to carry out the offence.
eg. Punching a person in the face.

How do we prove Mens Rea?
A
Means of the physical act (the offenders conduct at the time of the offence).
Statements of intent before the Actus Reus.
Admissions made after the Actus Reus.
Accounts from witnesses.
