What should you consider before you decide whether it is necessary to arrest someone?

A

To ensure the persons appearance before a court
In the interests of the person being arrested
In the public interest

Examples: To stop the offence, offence is of a serious nature, address is unknown, declines to give details, CADD, prevent absconding, following departmental guidelines.
