- extends from the ischial spine to the inferolateral border of the scrum ( and some of the coccyx)
- located anterior (think anatomical position) to the sacrotuberous ligament
- converts greater sciatic notch into the greater sciatic foramen

sacrotuberous ligament
A
- larger of the two
- extends from the medial border of the ischial tuberosity to the posterior iliac spine of the pelvic bone, along the posterior aspect and lateral border of the sacrum, then onto the posteriolateral surface of the coccyx
- converts, along with the sacrospinous ligament, the lesser sciatic notch into the lesser sciatic foramen
