II: >1cm in length
III: >10cm (III is split further into A, B, and C)
What do you give all patients with an open fracture?
Tetanus
Abx - Cephazolin (+/- gentamicin, penicillin)
What are some early complications of fractures?
Infection
Bleeding
Compartment syndrome
Fat embolism
DVT/PE
Wound issues
Neurovascular compromise
What is spondylolisthesis?
Forward displacement of a vertebrae typically secondary to a fracture
What is a gibbus?
It is a sharp, angular kyphosis of the spine with protrusion of the spinous process at the apex of the deformity
